Get ready for cold weather
Insulate your pots. If they are too big to move to a sheltered spot wrap them round with bubble wrap or hessian sacking. This protects them from frost - the plant roots as well as the pots!
Cut back grasses and bamboos
Not all look good during the winter, if they do look messy trim them back.
Order a Christmas Tree by the end of the month!

Plant fruit trees
Many variaties of apples, pears, plums and cherrys to choose from.
Prepare the ground well, incorporating plenty of organic matter (Tree Start is ideal).
Young trees will need staking.
