Community Landscaping
Growing Concerns is committed to improving public spaces in and around housing estates in East London. Many of these areas tend to be squeezed out to allow for more car parking or more houses, all vital, but it does mean that what is left must be spectacular and lavish, full of beautiful plants and colour to create a truly vibrant community, giving people a sense of pride in their surroundings.
We have an experienced & enthusiastic team who plant & maintain many secret pockets of loveliness around this area of East London, and with the support of the people living here hope to develop them and keep them looking beautiful. We can work closely with local groups to help them realise their schemes. Providing materials, guidance and labour.
GARDENING CLASSES
We recently expanded the garden centre to include a new community growing space. Classes are currently running every Saturday from 11am to 2pm and include sowing and raising vegetables from seed in our raised beds. Please come along, all age groups welcome!
The space also has a small fruit tree orchard, wormeries for kitchen waste, compost bins for garden waste and space to include a wildlife walkway sometime in the near future.
Please get in touch if you would be interested in volunteering. We always need extra hands to help with watering, weeding, tending to the wormeries, etc…
