Growing Concerns is committed to improving public spaces in
and around housing estates in East London.
Many
of these areas tend to be squeezed out to allow for more car
parking or more houses, all vital, but it does mean that what
is left must be spectacular and lavish, full of beautiful
plants and colour to create a truly vibrant community, giving
people a sense of pride in their surroundings.
We have an experienced & enthusiastic team who plant & maintain many secret pockets of loveliness around this area of East London, and with the support of the people living here hope to develop them and keep them looking beautiful. We can work closely with local groups to help them realise their schemes. Providing materials, guidance and labour.
GARDENING CLASSES
At the Garden Centre we have a beautiful training area with a sedum roof, and work benches on site. There is also an indoor classroom with seating space for 10 students.
Growing Concerns provides gardening classes in hanging baskets,
troughs & planters, where people can purchase the items
they have made at a very reasonable rate!
We currently work in partnership with TH College to offer ESOL classes where people with English as a second language can broaden their vocabulary, whilst enjoying the practical activity of making their own baskets and chatting with the class.
We run short summer classes with the local summer play scheme and half day events with local elderly residents.
Please call us to discuss the possibility of classes to suit the needs of your group. |
